The customer was having issues with lots of cracks in the ceiling. After taking a closer look we found an old artex ceiling that had been over-skimmed before, and the plaster had started to come away from the artex — in some areas the paint was pretty much the only thing holding it together.

This is exactly why we recommend overboarding and skimming. It’s the proper belt-and-braces approach, creating a solid new surface.

Ceiling now fully overboarded and freshly skimmed.
