Sharing some awesome shots of the 1979 BMW R80 Scrambler we built for Carlo last year. Briefed to build something that looked of the era but with some subtle modern touches.

Picking up the bike in pieces, the engine had a complete rebuild and recondition (box fresh) whilst we got on with building a bespoke rear frame work, new bespoke carbon fibre seat base, foam hand shaped and trimmed with its own unique blood-red vinyl cover.

We shaped and styled some bespoke aluminium side covers from scratch to tie in with the overall theme and modified some pattern front and rear fenders to suit.

The bike then utilises some tens3 LED indicators (almost hidden when off but super bright when on) alongside a full re-wire with Motogadget goodies and a Daytona digital dash which we “frenched” into the headlight surround. The “desert scrambler” handlebars were dressed with .motorcycles switchgear, and brakes with braided brake lines adding to the “resto-mod” features of this bike.

Wheels built by lwheelcomponents and laced with Michelin Anakee wild tyres.

The exhaust was fabricated in-house from
pre-bent stainless steel exhaust bends and finished with some aftermarket silences.

We painted the frame in matt black with gloss black and silver colours scheme for the tank and side panels.

Every box ticked and the list goes on but for now, check out these awesome photos taken by our friend

Who’s off to at this year?

Kicking off Saturday the 18th - 26th November 2023 we’ll be proudly presenting our special build BMW K100 collaborative project featuring very unique “art attack” livery where it will feature on the stand alongside some more of Ian’s masterpieces.

The paintwork has been done by the British artist Ian Cook, internationally renowned for his unique form of creating artwork – painting with radio controlled cars, vehicle tyres and toy car wheels instead of paintbrushes.

A complete and comprehensive Resto-mod with outstanding specification, we built an exciting rear framework & seat unit to make this bike stand apart from any other custom K100 build out there. We have brought the bike “bang” up to date by integrating the motogadget mo.unit blue and Rebelmoto handlebar switches with high quality tech and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to the list of bespoke parts specifically made for this bike and the customisation process, this bike has had a comprehensive nut and bolt restoration.

THE STORY

1975 saw the introduction of what would become an iconic part of BMWs history. The BMW Art Car collection began when Hervé Poulain asked artist, and friend to swap his canvas for a BMW car. Poulain, a French racing driver, would later race this car. In fact, nine of these Art Cars competed in motorsport. There was only ever meant to be a single Art Car but now a total of nineteen official BMW Art Cars have been painted.......... So we thought, why not apply the same principle to one of our custom BMW bike builds?

Check out this dream ride that we completed during the summer for our good friend Joe.

It came a loooooong way from where we began, starting with a heavily crusty and corroded 1981 BMW R100 (scroll right for the “before” but we went on an exciting journey, breathing a fresh lease of life into this black beauty.

Starting at the front, we fitted did a Showa USD fork conversion with cnc billet top and bottom yokes, rebuilt wheels with black rims & spokes, wrapped in Michelin Anakee wild tyres, Galfer brake discs, HEL Performance carbon effect brake lines and cnc billet front callipers.

At the rear, new reinforced rear suspension mounting points, fitted up with top of the line YSS progressive shock absorbers, bespoke rear subframe and seat.

Frame and engine painted in matt black with a two tone gloss/matt tank detailed with a billet cnc badge and fuel cap.

Further details include a top of the range motogadget digital dash, mo-unit blue, mo.view mirrors, mo.blaze bar end indicators, mo.lock and tens3 integrated tail/brake and indicator lights frenched into the rear subframe.

Rebelmoto switch gear, KOSO Thunderbolt headlight with bespoke ASE brackets, full Mad-exhausts system, customised etched DNA pod filters, Li-ion charging system and lightweight battery and upgraded ignition system.

Every box ticked and the list goes on but for now, check out these awesome photos taken by our friend
