Wc-27/3 & Wc-3/4
We have had a busy run-up to Easter.
This week we concentrated on the book "little rabbit foo foo" by Michael Rosen bringing us nicely into Easter. We did an Easter hunt where we hunted Easter shapes around the building. We made Easter stamper pictures, we glued small Easter egg shapes onto large Easter eggs to make amazing pictures. We iced some Easter biscuits using yellow icing and added eyes and a beak to create Easter chicks. We use tongs to sort the lambs in the Easter funky fingers. We made hot cross buns out of Play-Doh and even tried tasting some hot cross buns. We use polystyrene eggs to roll around in paint to make the eggs colourful just like real Easter eggs. We made some lovely Easter cards for our families. We sang five hot cross buns in a baker shop and read the Easter story of the golden egg.

Spring team 2
Our theme for this term was wonderful world of books. We will be looking at some amazing children's authors such as Rod Campbell, Eric Carle, Julia Donaldson, and favourite books chosen by our children such as Dear Zoo, Brown, Bear, Gruffalo and many more.
Wc-28/2
The first author but we looked at was Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell.
This book tells the story of a zoo trying to send us a perfect pet. The children love this story and enjoyed trying to guess what animal was in each enclosure. They learnt that each animal had its own characteristics Which related to the four core emotions- Happiness, sadness, anger and fear.
The the children enjoyed exploring different habitats that the animals lived in matching the animals to the right habitats. They use tissue paper and glue to independently make some angry lion masks. We used action cards to create movements and sounds of all the animals in the story and coloured in pictures using different colours for each emotion displayed by the animal.
The children loved assigning a colour to each emotion. Yellow for happy, blue for sad, red for angry, and green for fear/scared and happily now tell us how they are feeling by pointing to a coloured face on the board.
