๐ Supporting Communities Mobile Youth Provision ๐
We're delighted to announce that, thanks to funding from Derby City Council Community Safety Team, our Mobile Youth Provision will be delivering free weekly evening sessions across Derby over the next 4 months.
๐ Where you can find us:
๐ข Monday Evenings โ Chaddesden
๐ข Tuesday Evenings โ Mackworth
๐ข Wednesday Evenings โ Alvaston & Boulton
Our mobile youth provision creates safe, welcoming spaces where young people can socialise, build positive relationships, take part in engaging activities, and access support from experienced youth workers.
By taking youth work directly into local communities, we aim to:
โ
Reduce anti-social behaviour by providing positive alternatives.
โ
Create safe spaces where young people feel welcomed, valued, and supported.
โ
Improve community safety through early intervention and positive engagement.
โ
Help young people develop confidence, resilience, and life skills.
โ
Offer information, advice, guidance, and referrals to additional support services when needed.
Each session will include a range of free activities such as gaming, sports, arts and crafts, team challenges, wellbeing activities, and informal youth work, ensuring there's something for everyone.
A huge thank you to Derby City Council Community Safety Team for investing in our communities and recognising the importance of early intervention. Their funding will help us support hundreds of young people over the coming months, providing positive opportunities while helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and strengthen our neighbourhoods.
๐ฒ Keep an eye on our page over the coming weeks as we'll be sharing the exact locations, times, and activities for each session.
Together, we're creating safer communities and brighter futures for Derby's young people. ๐

๐นโจ Skateparks are so much more than places to skate!
They give young people a safe space to hang out, stay active, learn new skills, build confidence and make positive connections. ๐ค๐
At Supporting Communities, some of our best conversations and youth work happen in spaces like these. ๐ We regularly engage with young people where they feel comfortable, building relationships and offering support when itโs needed most.
๐๏ธ More investment is needed in our parks, skateparks and community spaces so young people have safe places to belong, grow and thrive.
๐ญ When we invest in young people, we invest in stronger communities and a brighter future for everyone.

๐๐ Small Charity Week 2026: Small Charity. Big Impact. ๐๐
This Small Charity Week (22โ29 June), we're proud to celebrate the incredible difference small charities make in communities across the UK.
At Supporting Communities, we may be a small charity, but we have a big impact. Through our youth, family, and community support programmes, we work with hundreds of young people and families every week, helping them overcome challenges, build confidence, improve wellbeing, and create brighter futures.
Our belief is simple: Early Intervention is Prevention. Whether we're mentoring a young person, supporting a family through a difficult time, or bringing communities together through positive activities, we're there when people need us most.
David Walsh, Director of Operations at Supporting Communities said:
"Supporting Communities may be a small charity, but we make a big difference in the lives of young people and families every day. Through our youth, family and community support programmes, we help hundreds of people each week to overcome challenges, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.
What makes small charities special is that we know our communities. We build trusted relationships, listen to what people need, and provide support that is personal, meaningful and responsive. Small Charity Week is a chance to celebrate the life-changing impact small charities have and the difference they make every day."
