Thankyou Al Coates for having me back a second time 😃😃

Part 2 felt like such a meaningful conversation, exploring why it’s essential to understand the crossover between attachment trauma and neurodiversity when making decisions for those living with both. When these layers interact, behaviour can be so easily misread and expectations can become harmful if we don’t see the underlying story.
Years ago, I wrote the poem I read hetr. about being “missed” in the care system. Later, working inside that same system, I watched the same patterns repeat. Listening to that poem now, with the added lens of neurodiversity, the meaning hits differently. I hear the shutdowns, the sensory overload, the masking, all the things no one recognised at the time.
Supporting the healing of others is about that shift in understanding.
It’s about standing in the shoes of those we support and making sure they’re truly seen.
