Stopped for a wee dander on the way back from a service call

Just to remind you if your tv has been struck by something and now looks like this then unfortunately the glass inside the panel has been broken and cannot be repaired.
The only cure is to replace the lcd panel but due to the high cost of these including their shippping costs it is not economically viable to repair.
