First Steps Pre School Driffield

Another busy and exciting week at First Steps Preschool! 🌟

As part of our “Out and About” topic, we travelled all the way to the Arctic this week 🐻‍❄️

The children had great fun exploring with sensory rice and snow, fishing for fish, building igloos, painting ice, creating their own Arctic animals and learning all about this chilly environment.

We also tried to keep cool like the Arctic with plenty of ice lollies, paddling and water play! ☀️🧊

We even enjoyed some of our very own strawberries at snack time that have been growing in our garden — they were delicious! 🍓

Next week we will be exploring our new topic “Into the Garden” with lots of exciting activities planned as we discover more about the wonderful world around us. 🌱🌼

We had such an exciting afternoon at First Steps today! 🦋

We released our butterflies into the field, and all 4 butterflies spread their wings and flew away beautifully. The children were so excited to watch their little caterpillars finally go free after caring for them and watching them grow.

One butterfly loved our blossoming apple tree so much that it stayed with us for a little while before finally flying away! 🍎🦋

What a magical experience for everyone! 💛
