Dear Harris family

Not only are you ridiculously good looking, you also have some of the kindest hearts around.

You are my people.

My sister is my oldest (not talking about her age 😉) and bestest friend. We just get one another, being together is natural and comfortable, it is effortless. We are our silliest when together and have countless funny memories shared. By a flick of a finger, a tug of a skirt or a slight glance we (usually) know what the other is thinking and how she is feeling.

Matthew is my brother (in-law), he has been a part of my life since I was 5 😱 (now who can say that about their brother in laws?) I remember when I was a bit younger feeling conflicted in calling him my brother in law because it just didn’t do our relationship justice, he means so much more to me than that but at the same time, I would feel a strong need to elaborate when calling him my brother and would over explain that it is not biological, and my sister is not in fact married to our brother. 😜

Watching Brigie and Matts love grow and evolve over the years, from two teens, into a mommy and daddy, has been very special to see. Their love guided me in finding mine. And their parenting was a base from where I branched off to find my own style.

(After my own Benjamin) Lily and Weston are my favourite littles in the whole world! Being their aunty is one of my most treasured titles in life. With each new age/stage of their lives I have said, “this is my favourite stage” and then they would grow and change a little more and their sense of humours emerged and I would find myself saying once more, “this is my favourite stage.”

Special family, I am so glad that we get to live close together. In many ways it feels like a dream come true being able to pop over, raid your wardrobe, have a braai and explore our new country with one another.
