Today marks a truly special milestone — 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th, 1776. The Semiquincentennial, as it's officially known, is a once-in-a-lifetime anniversary, and what a remarkable moment in history to mark.

We think of so many of you who have travelled with us here in Scotland over the years, and it always reminds us just how deep the ties run between Scotland and America. After all, nearly 10% of Americans trace their ancestry back to Scotland — from the Highlands and Islands to the Borders and beyond. So in many ways, Scotland is a part of your story too.

Wherever you're celebrating today, we hope it's filled with joy, great company, and maybe a wee dram in honour of the occasion.

“Just finished an amazing tour out of Edinburgh with Darren Primrose of Traverse Scotland.

We were a party of six and he took us to Saint Andrews and stopped at the various sites along the way. We enjoyed shopping and had a great lunch at the Jigger Inn. Also enjoyed learning more about Scottish culture and history.

On the way back, we saw several beautiful small towns and stopped to see some Highland cows. An incredible day.

I booked in advance and we had great communication back-and-forth.

Beautiful vehicle and very safe and fun driver.

Would highly recommend!”
