Guest artists Cat and Éiméar McClay present new video installation work alongside the main dancefloor 🧢

“Our work focusses on themes of queerness, magic and objectification, which we explore primarily through video, photographic collage, and installation. Using 3D modelling and animation, we construct surreal events that would otherwise be impossible. We are interested in the materiality of digital media, which we play with by capturing and experimenting with glitches and mistakes in our footage. Queering traditional narratives within our videos and imagery, allows us to subvert typical heteronormative patriarchal behaviours and expectations. We use Photoshop as a tool to create magic. It allows us to fragment and dismember images of our bodies and objects, and use them to build immersive virtual and physical spaces.”

Rhythm Machine - Summerhall - Open Minds Open Doors Each month resident DJs Yves and William Francis (and guests) play unboundaried dance music across genres on the main dancefloor - The Dissection Room - as contemporary artists from Edinburgh, Glasgow and further afield present performance, video and installation work in the Anatomy Lecture Theatre.
