To all our supporters.

Important planning meeting tomorrow- see post below

We have had an in-depth valuation and viability business report completed by Dabro Associates.

Based on the results we have been able to produce an outstanding business plan to help with funding.

We made a formal offer to Bettesworths - Agents for the Red Lion, which was in line with the valuation. Which was swiftly refused.

Our COF application is ready to be submitted and other grants are being applied for with the help of Plunkett UK.

Our latest survey was completed on line and we also hand delivered it to make sure everyone had been included, if you missed out, we are sorry.

The results confirmed our understanding of the wishes of our community.

We are deeply grateful for the generous donations and pledges.

The results will soon be available to view on our new website. We can report that 80% of you wish the Red Lion to remain a pub - a vital part of Tedburn’s history.

There is a chaired Planning meeting at Teignbridge District Council, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4XX on Tuesday, June the 11th at 10am, open to all. We need as many there to support this as possible!

We have been extremely fortunate to have received a letter of support from MP MEL STRIDE. This will hopefully add some weight to our efforts. PLEASE - we are nearly there - LET’S SAVE THE RED.

POSTED ON BEHALF OF THE SAVE THE RED SUPPORT GROUP

Hello to all helpers and supporters of the “Save The Red” Campaign.

BRILLIANT NEWS!
The fight to secure the Red Lion as an “Asset of Community Value” has been successful. The owner has not contested the decision and has submitted a notification of owner intention to sell. Under the rules of a community right to bid we have until the 26th January, preferably before, to submit a letter of interest in bidding for the pub. The current Planning Application has been removed from the planning portal, once again, thank you for your objections. However, the owner may still keep applying for planning permission for change of use etc… but the ACV will make this more difficult. The ACV status applies to the pub for five years, which means in that time, it has to be sold as a pub. Also, that the owner cannot ignore sensible offers from interested parties.

From the date of our letter of intention to bid being submitted, we have a maximum of six months to formerly put forward a bid to purchase the pub. During this time, we have to correctly evolve into a professional group and put into place our thoughts for the future of the pub using all the support we can muster with assistance and guidance from CAMRA and the Plunkett Foundation.

We shall keep you updated on any more news!

Thank you.
‘Save the Red’ Community Action Group.
