There’s a reason handmade magical tools carry such powerful energy.
I think handmade ritual tools feel different because they carry presence.
Not just effort. Presence.
When you create something slowly with intention, whether it’s a witches ladder, altar jar, spell candle, or ritual oil, you naturally pour energy into it.
That’s why handcrafted witchcraft has always mattered so much to me.
You can feel when something has been made with care.
And honestly, I think we’re all craving more of that now. More authenticity. More connection. More meaningful objects that actually support our spiritual lives rather than simply filling shelves.
That’s real magic to me.
What is your favourite tool you have made?
I love making Sabbat Altar jars

I’ve always loved the history and symbolism behind witch cords and witches ladders.
There’s something beautifully human about weaving intention directly into an object with your own hands.
Knot by knot.
Charm by charm.
Thread by thread.
Long before modern spirituality became trendy online, people across different traditions created cords, ropes, charms, and talismans as protective and empowering ritual tools.
Some called them witches ladders.
Some called them witch cords.
Others knew them as fairy ropes or devotional cords.
But the heart of the practice stayed very similar.
Creating something physical that could hold energy, memory, symbolism, and intention.
I think that’s why these practices still resonate so strongly today. In a world where everything feels fast and digital, there’s something grounding about making something slowly with your own hands.
You can feel the energy building as you work.
The knotting becomes meditative.
The choice of charms becomes personal.
The colours, herbs, beads, ribbons, and symbols begin telling a story.
Your story.
I especially love that witches ladders can evolve over time. They’re not static decorations. They grow alongside your spiritual path. You can add charms for protection, intuition, creativity, abundance, ancestral connection, healing, or guidance depending on what you need most.
That flexibility makes them incredibly personal ritual tools.
And honestly, they’re wonderful for beginners because there’s no “perfect” way to create one.
Your magic doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s.
One person might weave shells, herbs, feathers, and moon charms into theirs. Another might create a beautifully simple cord with meaningful knots and protective symbols. Both are equally valid because the power comes from intention and connection.
I think that’s the part people forget most often.
Witchcraft has never been about perfection.
It’s about relationship. With yourself. With nature. With spirit. With symbolism. With ritual.
That’s why I’m genuinely excited for the Witch’s Ladder workshop at Fox and Bear’s on the 27th. There’s something incredibly special about gathering together and creating magical tools in community.
Not rushed.
Not performative.
Just people making meaningful things with their hands and hearts.
Honestly, that kind of magic stays with people for a very long time.

There’s something magical about the Summer Solstice.
The longest day. The shortest night. A moment where the sun seems to stand still, inviting us to pause and simply be.
For our ancestors, this time of year was one of gratitude, celebration, and connection with the abundance surrounding them. And perhaps that's something we still need reminding of.
Not everything has to be about striving for the next thing.
Sometimes it's enough to stop and notice.
The herbs growing in the garden.
The warmth of the sun on your skin.
The laughter shared with loved ones.
The quiet moments beside your altar.
The dreams you've already brought to life.
The Summer Solstice reminds me that magic isn't always found in grand rituals.
Sometimes it's found in gratitude.
In slowing down.
In recognising that growth has already been happening, even if we haven't noticed it.
Tonight I'll be lighting a candle and giving thanks for all the blessings, lessons, friendships, and little moments of joy this year has brought so far.
May your Solstice be filled with warmth, laughter, abundance, and a little bit of wonder.
Blessed Litha, kindred spirits ☀️🌿✨
How will you be celebrating the longest day of the year?
