It isn’t always the case if someone else is doing something you should too

Look at lemmings. They literally follow each other off a cliff.

BUT

In business, if you go off the cliff edge you could fly, not fall (unlike lemmings).

When I walk into Tesco or Sainsbury’s for my daily mooch of the meal deal section, the first thing that catches my eye is the Christmas stock!

It’s crazy to me that people are already buying their table decorations and advent calendars BUT they are.

If the supermarkets are doing it, you probably should be too. They pump hundreds of thousands into marketing research so you can be sure it’s already tried and tested.

As a general rule look at the businesses around you to see what they are doing. If they keep doing that thing, it’s probably working for them.

Take that thing, and figure out how to do it better.
