My first session started off looking like a silent disco with a cool set of headphones, but instead of music we listened to on how he got to where he is now by pushing through the negativity and difficult situations. My takeaway from that is that I’m definitely going to start buying the Lurpak!
This was followed by who showed us the kind of pics we should (and shouldn’t) be taking to appeal to potential new clients.
Went for lunch with some fellow Jellys before entering the lounge where everything was sparkly, pretty and pink for more introductions, conversations and hugs 💕
Saw lots of people I already know and met lots of new people.
Didn’t take many pictures but came away with lots of lovely goodies and info from people I hope to follow up with.
My 7yo fleeced me of everything in my goody bag - but kindly gave me back any business cards, leaflets and some teabags that he didn’t feel were of any use to him 😂

It's Monday and the kids are back at school and I'm back in front of my laptop.
Last week was a mix of work and spending time with the kids - a good balance of both.
We spent a couple of days in Bristol which was really nice. We were total tourists, wandering around and dodging all the cyclists and scooters who were slowing down for nobody!
My week is looking like this:
541 emails
Content creation
Client Engagement blocks
Email list set up
Newsletter creation
Content Planning
As well as my ever-growing to-do list. How's your week looking?

In a week's time the kids break up from school for half-term.
At the start of my business it would send me into a bit of a panic, wondering how I was going to juggle work and the kids. We're sold the idea that as women we're allowed to have it all, but it's rarely a reality.
However, over time (and many mistakes) I've found a happy medium that suits me and my business, and also allows for family time.
Planning - it's as simple as that!
Scheduling your content, whether you do this in-app or using a scheduling tool is your best friend.
If you plan content on a monthly basis, they yey you!
Schedule content that will need minimal interaction - i.e no launches or post-launches.
Let people know that you're not going to be around much as you're taking some family time, and pin this content so it's the first thing they see when they land on your page.
Sign post people to any resources or FAQ's you may have. You could also set up an automatic response (for both Facebook and Instagram).
Close your diary for bookings.
And don't forget to add an Out of Office to your emails.
Relax and enjoy your family time.
Three years ago today I worked my last day in the NHS.
I didn’t dislike my job, it just didn’t have the opportunities for me to work flexibly around my family.
I was terrified and excited at the same time but there hasn’t been a day since that’s made me feel like it was the wrong decision.
There’s ups and downs to being self-employed, but I no longer have the feeling of being stuck doing something I don’t enjoy.
I get to work with an amazing variety of people from home, at a co-working space or in a little cafe of choice.
If you’re standing on the edge unsure of making a decision - just jump! You never know what’s round the corner!
My actual real life this week!
I am lucky that I’m at home if the kids need me, but a bored poorly teenager needs more than your regular amount of patience!
Hopefully Monday normal services will resume!
Well that’s it for 2025!
I’m not sure what 2026 will bring but I’m ready for it!
