Based on our recent work, we are looking for a post-doc! In this project, we want to decipher the function of Wnt signalling in synaptogenesis - first using induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cortical neurons - and then zebrafish larvae - to identify new aspects underlying the cellular pathology of Alzheimer's.

We are looking for a post-doc! Applications are invited for a neuronal cell biologist to work on a research project at the Living Systems Institute to decipher the function of Wnt signalling in synaptogenesis. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake functional studies of Wnt signalling in induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cortical neurons. This project will undertake a functional analysis of Wnt signalling to identify new aspects underlying the cellular pathology of Alzheimer's, focused on the synaptogenesis to better understand the molecular mechanisms of the disease.https://jobs.exeter.ac.uk/hrpr_webrecruitment/wrd/run/ETREC107GF.open?VACANCY_ID=571268VtVY&WVID=3817591jNg&LANG=USA

Research news - Research shows cytonemes distribute Wnt proteins in vertebrate tissue - University of Exeter A team of international researchers, including experts from the University of Exeter’s Living Systems Institute, has identified how signalling pathways of Wnt proteins - which orchestrate and control many cell developmental processes – operate on both molecular and cellular levels.Â
