Lens and Light

Fox gloves seem to be growing everywhere you look at the moment. I came across these gorgeous specimens on a walk though the beautiful village of Tilford. It's difficult to think of a more quintessential English cottage garden flower with it's hundreds of rich, purple-pink bells. I've tried many a time to sow these beauties from seed and grow them in my own garden but always failed miserably. it will never stop me trying though. Perhaps next year I'll be more successful. 🌺📷

The delicate white flowers and fern-like foliage of cow parsley is a common along verges and grassy areas in spring. It is an early source of nectar for pollinators and beneficial insects but can become a w**d if allowed to spread.
