The hot weather continues 🌞😎
Extreme heat stroke can happen VERY quickly and is very dangerous
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG OUT IN THE HEAT - NO DOG DIED FROM NOT BEING WALKED!
If you want to walk your dog please do before 08:00 or after 9pm
Heat can remain in Tarmac and concrete for some time and can cause burns to your dogs pads.
Keep your dogs inside and cool!
Keep curtains and blinds closed as this can help to keep the rooms darker and shaded.
If you can use fans and cool mats - if you don't have these you can dampen towels and pop them in the freezer before popping them on the floor for your pet to lie on. Do not put damp towels over your dog this can trap heat and cause your dog to overheat.
Make sure you have:
🫗Lots of cool fresh drinking water
⛱shade in the garden
🧊Fans or air conditioning on
🥵Cooling Vests / Jackets
🥶Cooling mats
❄️Damp cold towels on the floor if cooling mats and vests are not available
🪟Curtains closed
🏊A paddling pool if you have one - if not you can damp your dogs belly / paws with cool tepid water
🍭Frozen treats of fruit and veg
🌞Avoid going outside during the heat of the day
🦮Restrict exercise
🛻NEVER EVER leave a dog in a car
Do not use a hose pipe to spray your dog as the hose can hold water that has heated whilst laying in the heat.
