A closer look at the Guildford planter project
This project used bespoke planters to manage the level change between the new extension and swimming pool, creating a more considered route without relying on retaining walls or one direct run of steps.
Set at different heights, the planters help define the zones, add structure and create planting pockets throughout the space. They were also colour-coded to work with the architecture, with lighting and irrigation built into the scheme.
The finished project came together beautifully, with the planters and planting helping to frame the pool as the main focus of the garden 🏡

Not every part of a garden needs to make a statement.
Woodland-inspired planting is a beautiful way to introduce softer, wildlife-friendly areas, whether beneath mature trees, along a boundary, or in a quieter corner of the garden.
Plants such as bluebells, primroses, cowslips, pulmonaria, forget-me-nots and honesty bring seasonal colour while providing valuable food sources for pollinators and other local wildlife 🦋🐝
The result is a softer, more natural feel that complements the wider landscape while creating habitat and year-round interest.

Reducing waste through considered garden design has always been central to the way we work ♻️🌿
This award-winning Guildford project from 2005 is a strong example of how thoughtful planning can reduce unnecessary excavation, reuse existing materials and create a garden that feels entirely connected to its setting.
The result was a practical, detailed and beautifully considered garden designed to last.
