We are thrilled to welcome rising star trumpeter Katie Bannister as soloist in this evocative concert, which journeys from the sea to the gallery and paints vivid pictures in sound.

The evening opens with Britten’s atmospheric Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, a masterpiece of orchestral storytelling, before Katie Bannister shines in Haydn’s brilliant and much-loved Trumpet Concerto.

Finally, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition – in Ravel’s shimmering orchestration – brings the programme to a spectacular close, each movement bursting with character, colour and invention.
