We are now well into the wildfire season and unfortunately have seen several wildfires so far this year. A single spark or ember from a barbecue or campfire has the potential to cause devastation to hundreds of square miles of heather and grassland.

🚴 Temporary Road Closure – Bealach Na Ba 🚧

Please be aware that The Highland Council has approved a Temporary Traffic Prohibition for the C1087 Bealach Na Ba Road, on:
🗓 Saturday 16 May 2026
⏰ 10:00am – 12:30pm
This temporary closure is required in the interests of public safety while a cycle event takes place.
📍 Road affected
The closure applies to the entire length of the C1087 Bealach Na Ba Road, from:
its junction with the A896 Shieldaig–Kishorn–Lochcarron Road,
to its junction with the C1091 Applecross–Shieldaig (Coast) Road
(approximately 16.5km).

✅ Access during the closure
Access will only be permitted at the discretion of the event organisers for:
Emergency Services
Pedestrians
Cyclists
Vehicles requiring access to/from premises

🚗 Alternative routes will be available and clearly signposted.
