Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is a well-known motivation theory that is widely referred to in education circles. We think it can also provide a model for how students are motivated to learn.
❗The hierarchy is particularly relevant when designing INCLUSIVE learning environments.❗
All students require a sense of belonging to remain motivated, but this can be more challenging for those with learning or physical disabilities to obtain if the design of your programme makes them feel set apart from their peers.
