When ovarian cancer comes back after treatment, this is called a recurrence. Sadly, this is something many people with ovarian cancer experience.
If the cancer returns more than 6 months after chemotherapy, it may be described as “platinum-sensitive”. This is a clinical term that can help guide treatment options, but we know hearing it can still feel overwhelming.
If you’re navigating a recurrence, support is available to help you cope with the physical and emotional impact 💙

A drug originally developed for lung cancer may help improve ovarian cancer treatment.
New research from Mayo Clinic found that ovarian cancer cells can quickly adapt and resist PARP inhibitors — a common treatment.
But when researchers introduced brigatinib, a lung cancer drug, it helped block that resistance.
The result?
Cancer cells became more vulnerable to treatment — while healthy cells were largely unaffected.
It’s still early, but this kind of research is how breakthroughs happen. Not by starting from scratch, but by finding smarter ways to make existing treatments work better.
