Ingenious Design

The 2026 Tour de France is the 113th edition of the most famous and prestigious cycling race in the world. It started on Saturday 4 July and runs until 26 July. Ingenious creative director and cycling enthusiast Glenn Carter will be avidly following each stage, but is also keen to draw attention to the race’s creative and stylish visual identity encapsulated in its simple, elegant logo.

Originally designed in 2003 by French graphic designer, Joel Guenoun and updated in 2018, the logo perfectly captures the spirit and essence of the race with its clever hidden cyclist motif within the wordmark. The yellow circle not only forms the front wheel of the bike, but also represents the sun and summer timing of the race as well as the iconic ‘Maillot Jaune’ (yellow jersey) worn by the race leader.

The custom typeface in brush-like style conveys the dynamism, movement and athletic intensity of the Tour and an angled tilt to the letters also captures the forward motion and gruelling uphill gradients experienced by the riders.

Working across all platforms with a strong connection to previous iterations but updated for the digital era, the visual narrative instantly communicates what the Tour de France is all about – cycling hard and fast, the iconic yellow jersey and French heritage – all within a single, memorable and stylish logo design. It’s a classic!

Ingenious are always pleased to collaborate with the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) and we have recently enjoyed creating a new look for materials to support their annual Acoustic Awards.

The 2026 Awards took place on 16th June at the ANC’s Annual Conference in Manchester, where the shortlisted entrants presented their work. Results were announced at a dinner the same evening and the awards presented. The awards promote and recognise excellence among UK acoustic consultants and look for examples of work that displays innovation, and originality in acoustic design or approach to a particular project.

As on previous occasions, ANC asked Ingenious to design a series of case studies to illustrate the winning projects. We were more than happy to work on creating a new design for this year and are pleased with the result which is smart, informative and professional.

There’s a great exhibition in Newhaven’s BN9 Studio at the Marine Workshops showcasing UK graphic art through five decades of screenprinting history from the Harvey Lloyd Screens archive. 50 Years of Print brings together leading contemporary figures including Anthony Burrill, Mr Doodle, Orla Kiely, Supermundane and Mr Bingo, alongside emerging artists and new talent.

Based in Wadhurst, East Sussex, Harvey Lloyd Screens began life in 1976 producing point-of-sale graphics, signage and commercial print for agencies and the high street. Nearly fifty years later, the studio has become one of the UK’s most respected specialist screen printers, known for its collaborative approach, technical expertise and enduring connection to contemporary British graphic art.

It's a fascinating, fun and colourful show which includes some of the most distinctive work in contemporary print, illustration and design. Free, on until 27 June and absolutely well worth a visit!
