Our very own C.Black contributed 46 runs to Scotland's over 40s victory against Wales yesterday 👏🏏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Scotland defeated the holders Wales in the Inter-District fixture at Ormskirk CC yesterday. Asked to bat first, Scotland posted an impressive 277 for 7. The innings was built on a solid foundation, with Kyle Coetzer leading the way with 77 and Craig Black contributing an unbeaten 46. The Scots progressed steadily throughout the innings before accelerating dramatically in the closing stages. A blistering 120 runs came from the final 10 overs, leaving Scotland firmly in control at the tea interval.
In reply, Wales also made a steady start and appeared well placed in their chase. However, the introduction of Daniel Styer in the 21st over proved decisive. With Wales on 95 for 2, Styer struck immediately, claiming three quick wickets, while a run-out further compounded the Welsh difficulties. Suddenly, Wales found themselves reeling at 120 for 5 after 25 overs.
A 45-run partnership over the next six overs briefly swung the momentum back towards Wales, but when Richard Andrew held a catch to dismiss Jonathan Hubschmid for 52, the writing was on the wall. The Welsh lower order then collapsed as Styer struck again to finish with excellent figures of 5 for 36 from 7.3 overs, helping Scotland secure a convincing 100-run victory. Scotland will now play the winners of West Midlands and North West in the IDT Semi-Final.
