This is probably one of the most nervous I’ve been to post something.

For a long time I’ve gone back and forth on whether to do this. Sharing such personal stories isn’t easy, and opening up conversations around alcoholism, addiction, grief and recovery can feel incredibly vulnerable.

But after losing my mum to alcoholism and receiving hundreds of messages from people who have lived through similar experiences, I realised just how many people are struggling in silence.

So I’ve decided to do it.
