Take a moment in nature with a book 🌷
Join us for a calming afternoon of wellbeing inspired by Lila by Marilynne Robinson, one of our 2026 The Reader Bookshelf picks.

We'll begin with a relaxed Shared Reading session, taking time to dwell with Robinson’s luminous prose and the quiet questions of belonging, solitude and connection that run through the novel.

From there, we'll step out into Calderstones Park for a gentle summer walk, inviting the landscape to become part of the experience. As we wander among the trees and open spaces, we'll enjoy the subtle details of the season and reflect on the our reading.
We'll wrap up the afternoon some peaceful creativity and a refreshing drink back at the mansion. We'll provide everything you need to create your own personalised poetry collection to take home.
