🕊 During the opening seconds of the 'Free as a Bird' music video from 1995, this photo of a young George taken here at 25 Upton Green appears!

He is holding an Egmond, his first guitar. We have one here at the house, stored in the same closet that George hid his original after accidently breaking it. The original is on display at The Beatles Story, Albert Dock.

Statistically speaking, John Lennon and Paul McCartney put out the largest amount of songs during The Beatles' short career.

However, the number one most listened to Beatles song on Spotify by a country mile is George Harrison's 'Here Comes the sun', even becoming the first to surpass 1 billion listens in 2023. ☀️

So, the real question is, why? Of all 200+ songs in The Beatles' catalogue, what pushed this one to the top for modern listeners?

Sometime in July of 2022 we put up this blue plaque on the front wall of George's old home at Upton Green in Speke.

Prior to that point there was nothing there honoring the home and it's significance.
We do believe that 25 Upton Green should have been the property that English Heritage put up their "official" blue plaque- but apparently that was not meant to be.

In any case, since then many fans have enjoyed traveling to George's old neighborhood and this former Beatles rehearsal space to take a nice photo under our blue sign. Cheers!
