A really special moment for us at Art Gallery was seeing Traditional Family Values by Trademark / Mark Wardel included in Gender Stories. 🎨

Originally commissioned by Homotopia as the poster artwork for our 2012 festival, the piece challenged ideas of “traditional family values” and pushed back against the language often used to marginalise LGBTQIA+ communities, something that sadly still feels incredibly relevant today.

Seeing this work held within the Museum of Liverpool collection, and included as part of such a thoughtful exhibition on gender, identity and expression, felt really moving for our team. A reminder of the power of Q***r art to challenge, provoke and endure 💫

Thank you to the Walker Art Gallery for inviting us to visit Gender Stories. 🎨

We had a really special evening celebrating gender expression, identity and creativity through art and performance. Highlights for us included a beautiful performance from Choir With No Name, an inspiring speech from Cheddar Gorgeous, and an incredible live art performance from our Dross. A huge shoutout forever and always for protect scouse dolls.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in bringing together such a thoughtful and timely exhibition.
