🐾 Relocating with Pets 🏠

Did you know that most of the pet owners in the UK have experienced difficulties in finding pet-friendly accommodation? There are several reasons for this, so let’s find out why:

1. Limited availability of pet-friendly houses due to concerns about potential damage, noise, or allergies among future tenants.

2. Higher costs of accommodation because of additional fees or a higher security deposit to cover potential damages caused by the pet.

3. Breed and size restrictions can further limit the available options for pet owners. Unfortunately, larger breeds may be entirely excluded from consideration.

4. Liability concerns if a tenant's pet injures or causes discomfort to the neighbors.

5. Maintenance and cleanliness of the living environment can raise concerns about the property's condition for future tenants among some landlords.

Repit’s Tips:

1. Know the Law 📜: In January 2021, the government published a revised Model Tenancy Agreement, which includes a clause that landlords should consent to tenants having pets unless it is unreasonable for them to do so. However, tenants will continue to have a legal duty to repair or cover the cost of any damage to the property.

2. Create a Pet CV 📋: Writing up your pet’s CV with references from your vet and previous landlords can help a lot when negotiating the terms. Also, you can ask to insert additional terms into your tenancy agreement where any damage caused by your pet would be your responsibility before moving out.

3. Not Sure How to Approach It? Ask Repit! 🤔: Book a free call with us through a link in bio, and our dedicated team will walk you through the main points on how to increase your chances of finding a property with pets.

Relocating for a job opportunity can be both exciting but also challenging. Especially, when it comes to costs. And despite many employers offering their employees relocation bonus, this sum is usually limited and only covers the essentials, like moving costs and temporary accommodation.

And temporary housing in places like the UK can be very expensive - usually 150-200% of your normal monthly rent. 🏠💸

A good Airbnb in London costs on average £3,500. So, together with deposit and the initial rent for the first few months, relocation bonus is often not enough to cover all these costs (that can reach £10 -15K in total). Hence, employees have to cover part of the expenses from their own money.

With Repit, you can save money on temporary accommodation by searching for your property in advance. With our Advanced Package you won’t need a temporary home because we will help you find the one you can move in immediately upon arrival.

How does this work?

1. You tell us your precise requirements for a perfect apartment.

2. We send only suitable properties to your Repit dashboard and you can book remote viewings.

3. We check them for you (you can join a call with us or watch a detailed video & report we prepare for you) to make sure flat description matches the reality.

4. Once you’ve decided, we help to review the rental agreement and assist you with paperwork.

5. And just like that, you saved on temporary accommodation hundreds of £££ and can move into a new home straight away!

And don’t worry, we will also help you with the paperwork upon arrival with things like banking, BRP, insurance, etc.

As a result, bags of your valuable time saved and, of course, money! 💰 So you can happily spend the rest of your relocation bonus on furniture and other pleasant bits that will make your new home feel truly yours. 🪴📦✨
