Green tea or black tea—which one gives you a bigger caffeine boost?

You might be surprised to learn that both teas come from the same plant, yet they differ in flavour, processing and caffeine content.

In general, black tea contains more caffeine than green tea, making it a popular choice for those who enjoy a stronger morning brew. Green tea, on the other hand, tends to offer a gentler lift and a lighter flavour profile.

But caffeine isn't the whole story. Brewing time, leaf quality and even the type of tea you choose can all influence what's in your cup.

At Dehing Tea, we believe the best tea is the one that suits your taste and your lifestyle.

"Chai Tea" or "Masala Chai"—are they actually the same thing?

You might be surprised to learn that the word chai simply means tea in Hindi. So when we say "Chai Tea", we're technically saying "Tea Tea".

The more traditional name is Masala Chai, which translates to spiced tea—a warming blend of black tea, milk and aromatic spices such as cardamom, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.

At Dehing Tea, our Masala Chai starts with premium Assam black tea, chosen for its rich flavour, natural maltiness and ability to stand up beautifully to spices.

Whether you call it Chai Tea or Masala Chai, one thing matters most: quality ingredients and a cup worth savouring.

Before you throw away those tea leaves, read this.

Most quality loose-leaf teas can be brewed 2–3 times, with each infusion revealing something different.

Assam 2nd Flush Tea can reveal a smoother, softer character in the second brew.

Assam Green Tea often develops gentler, sweeter notes with a second infusion.

A simple tip:
➡️ Brew your first cup as usual.
➡️ Save the leaves.
➡️ Add fresh hot water and steep a little longer for your second cup.

The flavour won't be exactly the same—and that's part of the experience.

Have you ever tried a second brew? Which did you prefer: the first cup or the second?
