Primitive Rising

Wow that was a DAY! I’m once again really thrilled with how the market went and thankful to everyone involved. To the talented sellers, everyone that swung by (and especially people spending some money on our wares!) and the Black Heart staff! Thanks also to for the excellent music all day, to .revolution for all the help, to for the banging cocktails, for sharing their space and smashing out tattoos all day, for all her artwork and ESPECIALLY for being my co-conspirator and bestie in this madness!

On a personal note; this edition was the most challenging. Firstly, we had about three times the amount of applications (certainly not a bad problem to have!) which meant whittling down the line up was really hard, then quite a few last minute fires to put out. I pride myself on creating an event to showcase all the great talent my friends and beyond have - I just want a day where we can have great music/food/hangs and hopefully make some money. I put a lot into creating something that people really look forward to and I’m proud of the growth. But this year was HARD!! I am a jeweller, I run a record shop, I DJ and co-run this market twice a year, at about 4 months prep/work per time. And this time I was feeling the pressure - so for the day to turn out as smoothly and busy as it did I am really really happy. So thank you everyone! And mostly thank you Matt for having my back 🖤

Next in the Medieval Devilry II collection is this Rowan Pendant. Featuring a dendritic agate doublet held within a shadowbox setting, all sitting under a crescent moon. I’ve always loved the drystone walls on Dartmoor and I try and create a similar texture in my shadowbox settings to replicate a moorland scene.
