Unilever a multi-million dollar industry, announced that they will rename Fair & Lovely, a skin-lightening cosmetics and stop using terms such as whitening and lightning in marketing campaign. However, they will continue selling the popular cosmetic brand.
Unilever, many times featured the Bollywood celebrities for the marketing of their well known brand Fair and Lovely. Apparently, white, light and fair shows that black is not the color of beauty and black skin color does not have any worth and one have to be light and white in order to look beautiful.
Sunny Jain, a company executive said: “We are fully committed to having a global portfolio of skin care brands that ks inclusive and care for all skin tones, celebrating greater diversity of beauty.”
“We recognize that the use of white and light suggests a singular idea of beauty that we don't think is right, and we want to address this,” Unilever added.
Unilever have to take this step in the light of the Black Lives Matter movement, activated after the killing of George Floyd.
The company is awaiting the approval of new name for the product and the change will be shown in few months.

Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan DRAP has approved Pakistan’s first Locally developed COVID-19 testing kit.
Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry said that the COVID-19 testing kit devolped by National University of Science and Technology (NUST), was sent to DRAP for the final testing and examination in March and now it gets approved by DRAP.
According to reports, NUST has about 1.5 million COVID-19 testing kits ready at its disposal to boost the overall testing capacity of Pakistan.

The government employees got disappointed when government did not announce any increase in their salaries and pensions in the annual budget for the year 2020-21.
Earlier, there were some news regarding the 20% increment in salaries and pensions, but government was under pressure of IMF.
However, opposition is criticizing government over this announcement. PMLN's Khwaja Asif said “It’s a grave injustice [not increasing the salaries of government employees] at the behest of the IMF”. “The future of the country’s people have been given into the hands of the IMF”.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that government should have given some relief to elderly people by giving some relief in the time of this pandemic.
