Meet one of the new dishes on our seasonal menu at Kolamba Soho: our Steamed Idli. 🌿
As Sithum describes it, expect the texture of a steamed pancake, soft, fluffy and light. A beloved quick snack and breakfast staple enjoyed at home across Sri Lanka, we felt this comforting yet delicate dish was the perfect addition to our new Soho menu.
Served with three chutneys for dipping, it’s simple, light and full of flavour.
Before you arrive, there’s a whole morning of making it happen.
Spices being prepared, garlic sizzling away, pots steaming, rice being fluffed, chai brewing, deliveries arriving, tables being set and menus being put in order. The windows open, the room comes to life, and slowly, everything is ready.
All so that, when you walk through the door, you can settle in, share a meal, and enjoy the experience we’ve been preparing for you.

An evening to remember. A little look back at last Wednesday’s “The Last Supper” Vinnie Cesnik final supper club before heading home to Australia.
Our Spicy Vinnie took centre stage, the perfect pairing for a Sri Lankan summer feast. From watermelon salad and aubergine curries to, of course, our much-loved whole jaggery beef, which had everyone reaching for their phones.
An evening filled with great food, old friends, new memories and a proper send-off for Vinnie. We ended, as all good Kolamba feasts should, with a giant Alphonso mango trifle!
Thank you, Vinnie, for choosing Kolamba for such a special evening. It was a pleasure to share the table with you. 🧡
And for those who missed it, the Spicy Vinnie is sticking around for a few more weeks. 🌶️
