How we build narratives👇
When trying to solve a problem or dealing with a difficult situation, ask yourself these questions.
1) What are the facts?
2) What is the story I am telling myself about these facts?
Most of the time we weave the two together and that comprises our reality.
But whilst the facts are undoubtedly fixed, the things we tell ourselves about them are not. And they tend to leads towards the flesh.
The facts might be that you just had an argument with someone close to you. Or that you’re sick. Or that you’re exhausted with church.
The story you tell could say you’re a failure. Or equally that you have been doing good work and you would benefit from some rest.
How you interpret that totally depends on the story you tell yourself.
Embrace reality but take control of the story.

To forgive is not necessarily to forget.
Forgiveness does not automatically mean the restoration of a relationship or the healing of trust.
One of the great lies is that love requires us to re-enter dangerous or abusive situations. It doesn’t.
Forgive. Let go. But be wise around the boundaries for your future.
Because trust has a track record.

Saying YES to everything is saying NO to the things that truly matter.
The ability to say no is a sign of maturity, wisdom and self-awareness.
When we are being led by the Holy Spirit, we should seek his counsel and direction.
If he wants us to say yes then say yes. But equally close the door to every distraction or duty that you sense is not right.
Don’t let human beings persuade you to override your convictions and boundaries.
Becoming a people pleaser will ultimately cause you to displease God.
