I always take a natural, documentary approach during this part of the day. No stiff posing, no forced smiles, just real moments as they unfold. 20 Once in a lifetime, real, creative and colourful engagement photos

Engagement Photography has gone hand in hand with wedding photography with me for over 12 years of my 18 year professional career. It opens up the possibilities for environments, colours and light that wedding venues just don’t have.

Unlike wedding venues, I have no choice on the matter. We are where we are and we have to make use of what we have. 1 year into offering engagement shoots, I decided that I wouldn’t shoot the same engagement location twice so that a couple would have me at my most creative, never having shot there before and to help them think outside the box on where we could go.

When I did my first few engagement shoots, it opened up my eyes to not only becoming closer and more trusted by my clients (getting to know me, how I shoot, my character and seeing photos even before their wedding), but how creative it can be, given that we can literally go anywhere and do anything.

I have had the pleasure of covering engagement shoots around the country and around Europe. It not only gives couples some amazing colourful and creative photos of them, but it gets them used to the camera and their guests also get used to my work before their wedding.

The results are limitless, creative and truly once in a lifetime.
