I recently spent a week in Nigeria on a corporate doco project. One of my none work highlights was getting to visit Igun street in Benin City, in the Edo state.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the home of the Royal Guild of Brass Casters, known as the Igun-Eronmwon.

The visit that was far too short to really appreciate the craftsmanship and history of the place. I got to meet a local bronze sculptor, Emmanuel Inneh, now in his 70s and still working on site casting bronze works.
