I didn’t yet know when I would launch my new creative writing platform, but I was already entertaining myself, for months, designing the posters that would illustrate the stories of those who believed in this project with me.

I hadn’t even decided on a name yet, but I knew I wanted one that truly represented what would drive us all (women): emotions, unfiltered words, words uniting us through what we feel.
pt opened its doors almost a year after I started thinking about it, visualizing it in my head, already designing posters and illustrations, thinking about colors, and building the website.

I wanted a space that was more than just a place to publish their stories. I wanted it to be a close-knit community that supports one another, inspires one another, and explores writing as a tool to also work through emotions.

Every month, I challenge them with themes—the famous writing challenges. I review each article and illustrate it with the posters I created. Every month, they receive the Social Media Pack, which is a guide with writing prompts so they never run out of topics to write about on their own social media. I also add personalized posters with each of their names so they can post them and grow their online presence in a visually cohesive, polished way—without losing valuable time that could instead be spent doing what they love most: writing and telling stories, their stories.

Over the last few days, I touched up these posters and, before starting using them, I showed them in our group chat. That’s where we talk, plan our group writing sessions, share everyday things, and, of course, exchange ideas to improve emootiva and make this platform a space where they feel supported and at home.

There are about 10 of us right now. I know I should promote this project more, but I confess I get so caught up in creating and supporting the emootivas I already have there that I don’t even think about doing it. The gratitude for these 10—who have call emootiva home, in some cases, for two years—is immense. ❤️
