COURSE DETAILS
The Level 1 Coach Certification course takes place over 3 days from 9am – 5pm each day. Candidates will participate in a variety of individual and group exercises, class discussions, demonstrations, and coaching situations covering:
History and origins of parkour
Principles of movement
Functional strength and conditioning
Coaching skills
Group management
Health and safety
The benefits of managed risk
The spirit of parkour in practice
The course culminates with a written exam and practical assessment by the course tutor(s). In order to complete the ADAPT Level 1 certification, candidates must satisfactorily complete the required number of supervised coaching sessions (10 minimum) with a Level 2 or Level 3 instructor within 1 year of the end of the course.
Upon submission of the Supervised Hours log sheet with the required number of signatures, candidates will receive their ADAPT Level 1 certificate via mail.
Candidates will be required to show a basic level of proficiency in a variety of parkour techniques and most candidates find that 1-2+ years of dedicated parkour training is helpful for the successful completion of the certification.
PREREQUISITES
- Recommended 6 months minimum experience of regular parkour training
REQUIREMENTS TO PASS
- 3 day training course
- Supervised Sessions completed within 12 months of course
- Must present a valid and up-to-date First Aid certificate
- Must be 16 years of age or over by the end of the calendar year
CERTIFICATES
Electronic certificate sent 1-2 weeks after course completion to the email address used for registration.

My Story

My journey into movement, training and the mind began around the tender age of eight years old when I embarked upon a lifelong study of the fighting arts. That journey took me around the world, learning as much as I could from as many sources as possible – always with the overall aim of becoming as complete and capable a version of myself as possible.
My training in parkour began in 2002, when the discipline was still young and only a handful of people around the world practised it. I was fortunate to meet and learn from many of the French pioneers and added that knowledge and approach to my own experience, creating what is now the global organisation Parkour Generations, which now teaches, disseminates and displays parkour internationally from grass-roots coaching to performing on the Silver Screen. Parkour Generations is the leading authority on parkour education, with our ADAPT Qualifications, Parkour For Schools and Parkour Fitness Programmes now the officially accredited certifications for parkour across the world.
Later we went on to work with the UK government to create Parkour UK, the world’s first and only recognised National Governing Body for the discipline.
