Congratulations to MA Cities graduate Tolu Faleti who has been shortlisted for the TET Inspire Future Generations Awards .
Stemming from Tolu’s MA Cities thesis, the ‘Primary City: Creative City Making & Urban Literacy for Children Project’ critically reviews policy interventions and design practices, conceptualizing infrastructure frameworks to support inclusive processes. It highlights the discourse around building capacity and agency in primary school year groups to engage with their built environment.
Born out of an interest in what voices are represented in planning, designing and executing regeneration and development schemes, alongside a keenness to punch holes through a sometimes seemingly opaque statutory system of consultancy and desire to integrate engagement, lessons learned and live project feedback into the process of development.
The project is situated in live research, combining creative education, tactile urbanism and school engagement.
