🌊 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗟𝗶𝗱𝗼 🌊

We want to update you on the future of the much-loved Stratford Park Lido.

Independent assessments show that around £5million of essential works are needed before the Lido can reopen. Because the work is so interconnected, it all has to be done at once - which sadly means the Outdoor Pool can’t open this summer.

We know how important the Lido is to so many of you. Which is why we’re asking for the community’s help. We’re speaking with Friends of Stratford Park Lido and reaching out to residents, charities, community groups and partners to explore fundraising and other ways to secure the Lido’s long term future.

💬 Cllr Martin Brown said: “Stratford Park Lido is an iconic and much-loved place in our district’s history. We would gladly borrow the money if it were financially viable, but the Lido’s short summer season simply doesn’t bring in enough income to repay a loan of that size. Funding it another way would mean stopping other essential services, and we can’t do that.

“We’re determined to give it every chance of a sustainable future, and we’re hopeful that by working with our community we can find a solution that protects this wonderful site for generations to come.”

If no partner or community solution comes forward, we will protect the site from further deterioration until the new Unitary Authority decides its future.
