From the Carew Manuscript, this pictorial map depicts The Castle of the Glin in County Limerick.

The castle was besieged and captured by Sir George Carew on 7–8 July 1600.

He is said to have sailed to India to spread the Christian faith and died there.

This woodcut of Thomas is from the16th century Legenda Aurea.
