We are proud to share an important milestone for Family Rights Group.
After nearly 20 years of incredible dedication, including her time as Chair of our Board, Angela Frazer-Wicks MBE is stepping down from her role and becoming our first ever Ambassador.
Angela has played a vital part in championing our work for children and families, representing us across the UK and internationally, and helping to shape our vision for a future where children can thrive within their families, surrounded by love and lasting relationships.
While we say thank you to Angela as she steps down as Chair, we are delighted that her journey with Family Rights Group continues in this new role.
In other exciting news we are also announcing the appointment of Sir Andrew McFarlane as a new Patron following his retirement as President of the Family Division of the High Court of England and Wales.
We feel very fortunate to have the combined the judicial experience of Sir Andrew, with the lived experience of Angela to support our ongoing strategy to reform the child welfare and family justice systems.

Kinship carers are grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, other relatives, or friends.
Stepping in to raise a child who can’t stay at home, can turn life upside down.
Many kinship carers tell us that they feel overwhelmed by child welfare processes at a time when they are also having to deal with difficult emotions both for themselves, the child and other family members.
That’s why Family Rights Group runs a free kinship carers forum. You don’t have to work everything out on your own. You can join a community of other kinship carers who understand what it feels like to be in the same situation.
The forum allows you to:
• Ask questions
• Learn from other people’s experiences
• Get online advice from our advisers
• Stay anonymous if you want
