Meet our wonderful singer/co-creator Hestor Dart
Hestor Dart is a singer, musician and maker with an interest in expansive and ugly sound, traditional crafts and collaborative practice. Some current obsessions include weaving songs, trash music and the tale of True Thomas. They are one half of the duo loomeweight, with Patricia Auchterlonie.
Hestor is a founding member of The Ruffians, a new music collective with a taste for the experimental and the absurd. They are also a member of Vox Urbane, a vocal ensemble led byHelen Meyerhoff and Dan Ludford-Thomas,which
launched in April 2023.
Hestor graduated with an MMus distinction from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2023, where they were the recipient of the LindaHirst Award for excellence in contemporary music.
They are one of six participants in the inaugural 2023-24 VOICEBOX programme, delivered by Juliet Fraser in partnership with Britten Pears Arts; City, University of London; Sound Festival and Hawkwood Centre for Future Learning.

Meet Sholto Biscoe-Taylor, one of our performers/singers-co-creators who is going to introduce himself:
'I decided to pursue music professionally whilst living in Berlin, I had moved there alone and found that music offered me a community and a shared language whilst I got to grips with German.
I returned to London to begin my undergraduate and am now in my final year of my masters at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying with David Pollard.
In the last couple of years I have found a love for new music and cross genre collaboration. This has led me to perform in a range of contemporary operas, start writing my own texts and the founding of my own q***r space, Queering the Score, which promotes the performance of new live music in an environment somewhere between a party and a concert.'
Come and see/hear Sholto and all of our other wonderful cast members on 20th September at The Cockpit, London.
