Crews are reminding everyone to take care with candles following a near miss at flat in this afternoon.

A candle fell over and burned through a plant pot on a balcony. Thankfully, no one was hurt and crews used buckets of water to extinguish the fire.

If you burn candles at home, please remember to:
✅blow them out before going out or going to sleep.
✅place them on a flat and sturdy non-flammable surface, away from items that could catch fire – such as curtains, cushions and clothing.
