Move with ease
Clinical sports massage therapist specialising in chronic pain recovery based in Kent & online
Today in clinic I was working with a client experiencing significant tightness through the glutes, hips and inner thighs.
Using an integrative approach, I combined clinical soft tissue therapy with cupping therapy to help reduce tension through the lateral hip, adductors and surrounding fascial lines. Sometimes by working through the inner thigh we can also begin influencing patterns travelling into the hamstrings and quads too.
I also gave a simple movement exercise to explore at home:
From a cat position, gently round and flex through the spine while tucking the tailbone under, then slowly glide the body backwards in space. From there, return towards a neutral pelvis, lengthen through the spine and move forwards again. Repeating this with slight adduction of the leg can help explore mobility and control through the hips and pelvis in a different way.
As an integrative practitioner, I blend clinical soft tissue techniques with cupping therapy, hot stones, dry needling, movement and nervous system support to help people move with more ease and comfort.
Based in Laddingford near Paddock Wood.

There’s something interesting about discomfort…
Almost everybody who comes to work with me arrives believing their pain is purely structural.
That something is wrong with their body.
That they are fragile.
Damaged.
Not resilient.
Very rarely does somebody say:
“Maybe my body has been carrying stress for years.”
“Maybe trauma, pressure, overwhelm or constantly pushing through has shaped this.”
“Maybe my nervous system has become protective.”
One of the questions I often ask is:
“Do you believe you should never experience discomfort, tension or pain?”
Because being human is not the same as being a machine.
We are dynamic organisms.
We require movement, rest, hydration, nourishment, connection and recovery for our whole system to function well.
Whatever therapy somebody leans towards with me, whether that’s hands-on bodywork, movement, breathwork, mindfulness, TRE™ or Pain Reprocessing Therapy, we don’t spend our time running away from discomfort.
We gently learn to turn towards it.
To notice sensation.
To stay curious.
To explore what happens when we stop fighting every feeling in the body.
Not trying to force change.
Not trying to “fix”.
Simply learning that discomfort can exist without fear.
This video was me stepping outside of my own comfort zone…
Sober dancing.
Lots of laughter.
No hiding.
No numbing.
And it reminded me that I am strong, playful, confident and fully alive.
Discomfort is not always a sign to retreat.
Sometimes it’s where resilience, freedom and self-trust begin.
