That's a wrap on the Pommeau Recce 2....
Great roads (and great weather).
On the transport section after Reg 1 we found a Route Barree that really was a Route Barree! Fortunately it is only due to be closed until the end of July so we should be good in September.
We found plenty of Turbines enroute.
All was going well until 10 miles into the last Reg when we came across a flooded road. Having stopped to assess how deep it was we decided against trying it and rerouted the rest of the Reg to avoid as it did look like it frequently flooded (although it wasn't flooded in March). We didn't wait to see if the local drove through but they also go out to have a look!

Busy weekend.....
My MG formed part of Hillclimb Garage - Downley, High Wycombe, Bucks, UK display at the local village fete, and why miss an opportunity for some free advertising!
Meanwhile i was in Bury St Edmunds on the East Anglian Classic Historic Rally. Good to catch up with Dean Forrest and Derek & Sue Skinner.
Derek & Sue in the Cortina Mk1 finished 33rd and 3rd in Class N1
Dean in the MGB Roadster finished 35th and 5th in Class N1
I was piloted by Mark Lillington in the VW Golf on the "Run" which was the Clubmans event run at the same time on the same route, although we had marked maps!
We picked up First place by 6mins 39 seconds, and only lost one wheel arch trip, cracked the exhaust on Saturday and then broke an exhaust bracket on day two, with the two cable tie fix not working we reverted to a ratchet strap through the car to hold the exhaust up to finish the last two regs!
Some great roads (not too many tractors) and some great tests (all be it a bit rough in places).
