🚽 The Solitaire team were called to a property recently where the toilet had been causing repeated blockages for years. After Nicky investigated, he found the waste pipe had been installed with the wrong fall, meaning waste simply wasn't flowing away as it should.

To put it right, he carefully opened the boxing to gain access, corrected the pipework to the proper fall, and installed a brand new concealed toilet.

We were recently called out to an oil boiler breakdown and discovered a poorly installed oil tank. The tank was overhanging its concrete base (as you can see in our top picture), which can put unnecessary stress on the tank and increase the risk of it cracking or splitting over time. A failed oil tank can lead to costly repairs and environmental damage.

The concrete base should extend at least 300mm beyond all sides of the tank to provide adequate support.

We issued the appropriate warning notices and advised the homeowner to get in contact with their provider.
