Post Microneedling 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦 💡💉❤️‍🩹
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?
There is only little downtime that comes after microneedling the skin. The inflammatory effect lasts around 12-24 hours therefore within those first 24 hours the skin should fade from red to pink as the swelling and healing process reduces.
Sensitivity is completely normal for up to 48 hours post treatment, therefore following the correct aftercare is important!
𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟰 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀
Once 24 hours has past, washing your face with a gentle cleanser and only applying a nourishing moisturiser is necessary. Mild swelling, bruising and flaking is normal however to minimise this effect, keeping the skin moisturised will reduce the shedding and alleviate skin tightness.
❌ Avoid excessively sweating, exercising, swimming. Also avoid applying makeup, any products with fragrances or active ingredients (Vit C/Retinols), acids, scrubs or toners which may cause irritation ❌
𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟴 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀
Gently exfoliate the skin the dry/flaking skin to speed up the healing process. Continue to hydrate the skin, morning and night.
𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟯-𝟱 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀
Focus your skincare routine on hydrating and moisturising the skin, and continue to apply a high-protection SPF. Avoid direct and extended sunlight for up to 7 days post-needling. Whilst also continuing to avoid active ingredients, acids, scrubs and toners.
𝟳+ 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Returning to your regular skincare routine is safe to do so.
