Sewing Workshops and Events in South Manchester.

Yesterdays's Sew&Bond™ went by too quickly!

I love this little sewing community that we have built here.

Everyone is warm and friendly and always on hand to help each other out, whether that be sewing related or otherwise.

There was a wide range of projects going on. There were cushion covers, skirts, tops, dresses, pj bottoms, t-shirts and cloning of much loved store bought pieces.

Thank you so much for coming today, it was a pleasure spending the day with you!❤️

Sew Your Own Trousers Workshops in partnership with Janome is now open for bookings!

If you ever made trousers that didn't quite fit the way you hoped or you've been putting off making your first pair because they seem intimidating, this workshop is for you.

Together we will make the Thea Trousers by Tilly and the Buttons but before the workshop even begins, you will receive your pattern in the post and complete a fitting questionnaire. This means we can identify any adjustments before you even cut into your fabric.

On the day, I will guide you step-by-step through the construction while explaining common fitting issues and how to improve the fit for your body. With a small group, you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get individual support.

You will leave not only with a beautiful pair of handmade trousers but also with a better understanding of trouser fitting that you can use in future projects.

📅 Date: 17th July 2026 (Fri)
⌚ Time: 09.45 - 16:15 (6.5h)
📍 Location: Janome HQ

What a fantastic creative day!

This time instead of me making up the kits, I thought it would be fun to see where everyone's creative choices would take them.

We spent about 45 minutes making decisions on colours, prints, zips, zip pulls, webbing, lining...it's amazing how many creative decisions we have to make for one item!

But that is the joy of handmade - being able to create one of a kind pieces.

Surprisingly, most of the group went for the same design and similar colours.

We are missing a couple of people in our group photo here, but we had a great relaxing day altogether.

Next workshop will be on the 17th of July and this time I will shift from bag making to dressmaking. Stay tuned! ❤️

There are going to be four very happy family members!

Deborah invited me round for a private sewing session to help her make some boxed make-up pouches as gifts for her family and they turned out absolutely adorable.

Each pouch is fully lined with a different pink lining inside, giving every one its own unique personality while still tying the whole set together beautifully. She did a fantastic job choosing the fabrics and it was so lovely watching the project come together from individual pieces into four finished pouches ready to be gifted.

What made the afternoon especially enjoyable was that it wasn't just about sewing. As we worked through each step, we chatted about life, the books we enjoy reading, hobbies, family and all the little things that make creative afternoons so special.

By the end of the session, Deborah had created four beautiful boxed make-up!
