Mix Manchester MSCP

Forming a visual gateway to the wider Life Sciences Masterplan at Mix Manchester providing 1,493 spaces.

The MSCP at Mix Manchester forms part of a wider masterplan providing 1,493 spaces alongside two office buildings. Mix Manchester aims to be the UK’s best-connected science, innovation, and manufacturing campus, and the location of the car park within the overall masterplan created an opportunity to use the façade of the MSCP as a visual marker.

The materiality for the scheme takes its lead from weathered steel, which is proposed to the main stair core to the east, creating a visual connection with the adjacent bridge link and acting as a vertical marker for the bridge across the site. The main body of the car park is clad with perforated anodised aluminium panels which will catch the light throughout the day to create variations across the façade. The pattern is created by using perforations of different sizes which allow the car park to be naturally ventilated.

FitzroviaCo, Great Portland Street

Commissioned by our work comprised of the refurbishment of four Edwardian terraced buildings to create flexible and sustainable office spaces, new receptions, end of trip facilities, with redesigned retail frontages and entrances.

The project reimagines the buildings with a quiet elegance that reflects each building’s unique identity. The interior design pays homage to the architecture’s historic character, reinstating heritage tiling to entrances and receptions, introducing timber panelling, and applying a warm, muted palette throughout. Each building is subtly differentiated through furniture and finishes that respond to individual branding, offering cohesive yet distinct spaces designed to attract and adapt to a variety of future tenants.

100 & 101 Barbirolli

Look Back Series: The transformation of two iconic 1990’s office buildings that sit across from Bridgewater Hall in Manchester City Centre. Internally the buildings were stripped back to frame and retrofitted with a new environment befitting modern occupier requirements.

We improved the frontage onto Barbirolli Square by creating larger and more inviting entrances, providing greater synergy between the square and the internal reception and amenity spaces. The ground level car park was converted into a new office floor, reconfiguring the atrium and dropping the base down a level to enhance daylight to all floors. The top floor was extended and two new roof terraces created. A sophisticated and understated style is realised through a palette of exposed concrete, poured concrete flooring, raw polished plaster, natural materials, and air purifying plants.

Central Square Cardiff

We are delighted to announce that Central Square Cardiff has secured planning approval. This new 50-storey landmark in Cardiff’s skyline, Wales’ tallest tower, will deliver 528 premium Build-to-Rent homes with world class amenities.

Occupying a pivotal site between Cardiff Central Station and the Principality Stadium, the scheme will complete the Central Square masterplan. Its slender profile addresses Wood Street and the public square, creating a dramatic focal point framed by a tripartite façade of base, middle, and crown, culminating in a distinctive illuminated pinnacle. Drawing inspiration from the great neoclassical skyscrapers of the early 20th century, the design reinterprets classical proportions and vertical hierarchy.

At ground level, the building engages the public realm with a two-storey pavilion and active frontages. The pavilion is conceived as a distinct architectural element, enlivening the square with dining and leisure uses. Residents will enjoy four levels of dedicated amenity spaces, including a 360-degree roof terrace with sweeping long-range views.
